The reasons for this were mainly that some members felt uncomfortable with such things in what they felt was supposed to be a private environment. There were also points made in favour of us not having records of the events that occur in the space, since as a hackerspace we often don't want the things our members do recorded. So the argument ended with the following decision: no cameras inside the space, but cameras outside the doors are totally fine.
