Hello All, I see all the discussion that was sparked by Brittany's first email about just playing a game.
As some may already be aware i was trying to get a few people together for a seeled (def: to prevent someone from seeing) draft at some point. I have two boxes M12 and *New Phyrexia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Phyrexia>. * I will have to look into the costs again (unless Brittany remembers what I had mentioned to her). I am not looking to turn a profit on these sets but i am looking to come close to breaking even. I would like to start a monthly or bi monthly draft if possible. There was two proposed tournament styles; The traditional round robin, draft style tournament, open a pack pick a card, pass to the next person. Once depleted start again with a new pack. etc Then 1v1 until a winner is determined. and A blind deck, open a pack place all cards face down, grab a predetermined amount of land of each colour and play that as a deck (removing the useless card of course [token/info]). I would like to explore both options if possible, but if the group is too large (there is a limited number of packs per box) then i will have to take a vote. I was also thinking that for the tradition draft the number of packs that we would open would be more than normal (iirc you normally open 3 packs, so we would open 3 of each set) and then build a deck with the resulting cards. I also have someone from outside of SkullSpace who had expressed some interest so they may be part of this too; heck if we are lucky we can convince them to become a member.
