As someone who (in the last 4 months) has spent > 60 hours volunteering
time and loaning effectively (tens of) thousands of dollars of equipment to
the Cyber Defense Challenge, I don't feel that I have any particular
control or ownership of the CDC.

I had time and resources available and the CDC required them.

I gave the time and resources I had because it seemed like a good thing to
do, not because no one else could have or because I was asked to do so.

Similarly, I think this whole issue with skullspace is silly. If people are
able to contribute more, and they choose to do so, awsome. No one is being
forced or coerced into giving resources. People give resources because they
have resources to give and feel that allowing whoever they give those
resources to to use them will be a better use of those resources than using
them themselves.

I don't step out on this mailing list very often, but seriously, I really
don't see the point of this discussion.

If someone writes some cheques or donates some time or (whatever else),
don't look around to everyone else to 'keep up with the Joneses', just say
thank you.
