For those who were|are interested: The next season of the GameKnight Games magic league starts tonight at 6:30 pm with a six-pack sealed event. Being there by 6:15 is recommended.
More details on the league format can be found at http://www.gameknight.ca/gameknight%20events.htm (Nuclear Hamster League, not Commander League) but in brief: all players start with 0 cards in their pool to level the playing field from the newbie beginner to the old-hands that have been playing since 1993 and have more cards than they can organize, then the six packs from tonight get added, and up to two packs* each week until the end of league in ~ 12 weeks. Also, to keep things fun and interesting, the rules for building decks changes from week to week. As with other friendly and relaxed recreational leagues I have played in (pool, curling), the prize structure for end-of-league is fairly flat so that everyone gets something and many of the players are happy to teach.
