The catch: this unit has retarded design, firmware is stored on a RAID array on 
the 2 HDs, so while it booted at first, after I had wiped the drives it was 
gone. You can put in your own HDs and use the steps at 
http://forum.nas-central.org/viewforum.php?f=156  to restore the firmware onto 
them. I'm now looking for a NAS but refuse to use something that won't 'just 
work' with blank drives.
