Jay nailed it. The stuff on the table is specifically selected to catch
they eye of people who might be kindred spirits...

Thor/Ric also nailed it. A large clear identifier, banner of TV
slideshow. Would go a long way. I will commit to working on a better
slideshow four the next con opportunity.

If someone stops to glance at a Raspberry Pi, pounce them and talk about
stuff related to that. If they stop and pick up the Munchkin box, tell
them to pop by on a Friday and play. (And that we have lots of other
awesome games). Did like Siu's PixrlArt are great eyecatchers too, and
telling people it is being controlled by your phone is often interesting.

I totally agree with what Colin said about the banner... Sadly we couldn't
think of a better place to put it... We figured there it would be visible
to people walking the aisle. Maybe investing in a frame to stand behind us
would be good at some point, but that takes money...

Until then, don't underestimate the power of SkullSpace as a community. It
is people like everyone who has responded to this thread that make me want
to be a member. There really isn't any other show in town that lets you to
connect with such an interesting and diverse array of people with such
broad, yet overlapping interests.

I think the trick is just to get people in the door. Once they see the
space and get a feel for the community, who wouldn't want to be part of it?!

The only other simple suggestion I could offer is stand up, smile and make
eye contact with anyone who might be a potential member. Us Canadians are
powerless to avoid acknowledging a polite greeting and people who are
curious (or who have no idea what we are) may be to shy to stop and ask.

.... and this weeks Jenkins award for tldr goes to... Me!
