Hi all.

So for anyone who hasn't heard, "ChaosVPN" its a big network run by the CCC
to connect hackerspaces across the world (though mostly in north American
and Europe). It is a very redundant mesh network run over SSL
encrypted tunnels, using the "tinc" software (which was partially developed
by ChaosVPN members) and a wrapper, and it peers and it peers to other
"darknets" such as Freifunk and dn42. The software is available for Linux
and the BSDs. It addresses over the "private network" addressing in RFC1918.

There are a number of hackerspaces connected, some of the bigger ones you
might have heard of are Hanover and Hamburg Chaos Computer Club, Austin
2600, the Krakow and Warsaw hackerspaces, and nearly a hundred other
spaces.

mcfly from the CCC is organizing a "geekend" Dec 14th and 15th to work on
some of the infrastructure-ish parts of the network. If anyone is
interested in joining in and working on some infrastructure things, set up
services, or just wants to learn more about the network in general let me
know, I would be happy to discuss. I've been working with it for almost a
year now, and ive taken on the job of making some software to take care of
tracking services that are offered on the network. It's a neat thing! I'm
super stoked about mesh networks and connecting with like-minded people,
but the network is still relatively infant. Anyways. Lemme know!
