I plan to remain a member forever, and I'll continue reading the lists
and sharing my opinion. I won't, however, remain a director - being a
director requires you to be a resident of Manitoba, and unfortunately I
won't be.
According to our bylaws, if a director resigns within 3 months of an
AGM, the board nominates their replacement. If it's outside of 3 months,
a full election happens. Since we're on the boundary of 3 months, we
made the command decision to take the nominate route. It's just easier.
Since our AGM will be February 25, I'll officially resign on November
25.
We had an informal vote amongst the current directors, and decided that
Brittany Postnikov will be the interim director until our next AGM , at
which time a full election will happens. I have full confidence that
she'll make us proud! And an interesting factoid: this is the first time
since SkullSpace's inception 3 years ago that nobody on the board is a
founding member. #TheMoreYouKnow
It's important to remember that the board no longer has specific roles,
so Brittany isn't going to be "president" or anything like that. She's
simply a board member, and board members are responsible for all duties.
And that's that. So keep calm, hack on! (to use an overused phrase).
