Correct me if I'm wrong here, but how does the intent to apply for or acquire grant monies in any way impact our "different goals" that are "not public[ly] oriented" ?
In my experience, grants do not come with strings attached, if they are federal or provincial grants. They might require some information that is (in my opinion) not information we should be concerned with releasing privately, such as "does your organization make money each month, or do you run a deficit", "do you have any capital assets", or "What is your monthly revenue". While I don't think this information should be released to the public, I see no potential for harm from this information being distributed in confidence to those who would seek to imbue our organization with provincial or federal funds. Quite frankly, the individuals who would review our meager financial information would see our annual budget as a rounding error... There are several government programs that are handing out money, no questions asked, to organizations which meet certain criteria, such as "encourage education, promotes community and technological achievement".
