I understand you’re on a work release program. So all I can say is petition the court for more “you time” and spend it at SKSP.

As for not using the space, in my defense, I never have time. And tbh when I am free there is nothing going on at the space that I can't do in my bedroom naked if I so feel like it. That works out to a net of 5 new folks. Before folks go “bat shit crazy” about raising prices etc. let’s ask for both a current state and projected state budget situation report from our board, as soon as one is made available. $100.00 was also added from the PC auction. I know this for sure. Let me leave you with these thoughts: 1) If you believe in Skullspace bring someone new to Skullspace. 2) If you’re not using the space, then that’s your problem. There is tons of awesome shit going on. On Tuesdays and on weekends, etc. 3) We have Popcorn 4) Support the Board by recruiting people and starting cool projects. 5) Start thinking less about “talk-acracy” and remember were a “do-acracy” - Start a project and do some cool shit which attracts people. “get-shit-done-acracy” 6) Make SkullSpace a priority destination; check in and see what’s going on before you head out, who know you might meet some one interesting. 7) Meet some people and talk about SkullSpace Ian From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] On Behalf Of Roswyne Sent: May-01-14 5:06 PM To: Skull Space Discussion List Subject: Re: [SkullSpace-Discuss] Counter-proposal re: Fundraising I prefer to see expenses split equitably, and have frequently indicated that I feel it is unwise to rely on charity. If people are having problems paying $40 a month, they obviously have no spare cash to tie up buying gift certificates. If SkSp is not even worth $20/month to existing members, we're doing something horrifically wrong - considering our rent alone is 100x that, and there are additional expenses to boot. If you like, you can add a donation to your dues. There are a few of us that do this and it helps a lot. I realize that the payment method for FundScrip is a bit inconvenient, that's why I offered to take orders for people. I should also mention that they have a direct debit method if you fill out a form. If anyone else tried to get me to buy gift certificates online without being able to use any reasonable method of payment, I'd laugh at them. And if SkSp wouldn't make enough from them to cover credit card fees, then there's no significant profit to be made anyway. FundScrip is a company that allows non-profits to sell gift cards and receive a percentage of the proceeds. There are around 100 retailers participating in the program including grocery stores, gas companies and restaurants. If you purchase gift cards you will get the full value of the cards, the only cost to you is a minimal shipping charge. You can purchase up to 4 gift cards, up to $500 at a time and the shipping will only be 87 cents. If the shipping charges are problematic, I would be happy to cover them. As you add gift cards to your shopping cart you can see how much of the proceeds go to SkullSpace. It isn't much, but if all of our members purchased gift cards to pay for groceries through us it would start to add up. If you would like to sign up you can do so at: http://www.fundscrip.com/ Our invitation code is: SS5BMZ Once you sign up, purchasing cards is really easy. At the moment we ask that you only purchase cards through the online bill payment option. If you select Interact or credit card we will be charged fees and they may end up being more than our commission. After you select online bill payment, when you checkout you will be given a code. You will need this code to set up Fundscrip as a payee at your bank. Not all banks have Fundscrip listed as a payee. If this happens to you please let me know and we will figure out another way to pay them. If you have any trouble registering or any questions please let me know.
