Given typical SB data rates and usage patterns, I don't believe it would take very long to have enough data to compromise a WEP key in this application. The cracking tools are fairly idiot-proof. That said, WEP + MAC-filtering is the best you can currently do, and it's probably worth doing.


One possible alternative would be to make the SB wireless network unroutable (ie. no gateway for Internet access). That would make the network a very unattractive target. In this case, you might want a second NIC in your slimserver if that box also needs external access.
