Bridging is the opposite of an access point.  the bridge is a client to an
AP. 
I believe Dean has said that they currently saw little value in providing AP
features, given the current glut on the market of cheap AP's

I asked the same question previously, there is a practical advantage of
having these combined in that there results in less clutter, one box and one
power supply instead of two.

This arrangement would suit me very well.
