I thought this would be useful information to add to the debate about flac (i.e. streaming PCM) to a wireless Squeezebox.
As some may recall from previous posts, I have always been able to stream PCM to my wireless SB1 with no problems. However, it seems that this was largely because the SB was only a few feet from the WAP.
I have since moved house and, currently my SB is at the other end of the house to the WAP with signal strength betweem 20% and 50%.
Guess what? I get dropouts when playing back flac files!
So, it seems that signal strength needs to be at a certain level in order for flac playback to be flawless.
