So, what I've been wondering is -- and no, I don't think I'm so penetratingly brilliant that I'm thinking of something y'all haven't probably been discussing for a long time, I just don't know what the issues are -- are there any plans to put housekeeping things like iTunes library scans in a separate process (or thread -- I'm old-fashioned and not fully up on these "thread" things) running at a low priority while a dedicated high-priority server process just serves music? Is this hard to implement in an OS-independent way, or is there something multi-process unsafe about the database used, or would it just be too gigantic a change to get to soon, or is something like this already done and I wouldn't recognize it if it hit me on the head? _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
