That's exactly right.  I chose 9:1:1 to indicate that something had
gone wrong and the player had reverted to a pre-factory setting.

I was thinking of that after I posted...I wasn't sure if
manufacturers/resellers got to choose the first 3 bytes, or if it was a
chance assignment.  Seemed a bit fortuitous to be the latter =)
Fortuitous, yes.  It was chosen for us.
