Ah, good point. Didn't realise you were also using WMP for regular playlists as well as the autoplaylists. One option would be to instruct WMP to create its regular playlists in a different format as described 'here' (http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/3985896d-00d6-437b-ab62-a6d4e3747f5a1033.mspx#EW), under create a regular playlist, but leave the auto playlists in .wpl. You could then exclude the wpl format as suggested above.
