So I dove into online music downloads today with MusicGiants. I thought, finally, a high quality download at full price rather than a watered-down version at full price.
That is until I downloaded it and tried to play it on my Squeezebox. Nope, can't do it. DRM restrictions. So I burned them to CD and then ripped them back. That worked. But then I looked at the properties of the files. You can burn them 5 times and you're done. I suppose the file becomes useless except on the computer to which it was originally downloaded. And 4 of my downloads I couldn't burn at all. Total crock of sh!t. I am not the lawbreaking type, but when I pay full price for something, I sure as hell better have full rights to use it. I'll be looking for a way to delete the DRM so that I can actually use that which I paid for. Ridiculous! I have an email into MusicGiants to see why I can't burn just those 4 tracks. Oddly enough, first it was 8 tracks. Then I just moved some things around and then just 4 couldn't be burned. Ridiculous! I must say, my excitement about entering the music download world came to a complete halt. Amazing. A customer for a day. And no more. No wonder illegal downloads are so popular. -- slimman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ slimman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19721 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49797 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
