Try taking out the battery and leaving it out for 10 mins or so as well as an SD card you have in there. Then try the factory reset (hold down add whilst reinserting battery and keep add held down). Also, how charged up is the Controller - someone had a similar issue recently and found that doing the reboot whilst in the charger did the trick.
