It's 3.0 miles from the Mountain View Caltrain to the Amphitheater. I used to bike it to work every day. You can bypass the 101 overpass on Steven's Creek Trail. It's sad but true, the public transit in Mountain View is nearly useless outside of commuter hours/directions. I you do want a nice dinner, you can always goto Chez TJ.
