To the OP: I'm running 7.5 on Ubuntu Karmic Koala x64:

The only plugin I've enabled is iPlayer, everything else is default. I don't rebuild my library automatically, and I have around 10000 tracks. I've installed the ia32-libs package (otherwise iPlayer is silent due to only x64 objects being installed). My Ubuntu is headless, running under HyperV. I do NOT get any crashes. How similar or different is your system to mine? Might be able to compare and help identify what's different?
