While the old IR remotes are no longer for sale, there may still be some stock. For some time, my old SB3 remote (the ovalish one) was behaving erratically (sometimes button presses just didn't do anything) and, on the advice of someone else on this forum, I contacted support. They wouldn't sell me one, but they sent me one for free. If you really need a new remote because yours is broken, there may still be some left for you.
