you asked for it... If you use a phone and disable the "phone" part of it it could also help a bit. Don't know about Android (never tried to turn off cellular on that one) but on my iPhone it lasts significantly longer with only WiFi than an iPod touch with WiFi so I assume it has a bigger battery.
