The same thing recently happened to me. Unfortunately it appears in my case that the network interface on the Squeezebox went bad, as my Blu-Ray player is able to connect when I use the same ethernet cable. I've switched to WiFi which is not optimal, but is about the best I can do short of buying a new Squeezebox.
