As one might notice I'm always a bit reluctant to introduce new UI on the mainscreen, to keep what you favour: being lean an straight forward ! I don't want to put buttons or input fields around every corner of the main screen, as I guess this confuses more than it helps. Lets compare: if there's an extra input field you need one tap to select it, lots of taps for your search string and then because of the menu structure of logitech some final taps. If there's no dedicated input field, you need one tap on the home button and one tap on 'Search', everything else is the same. So in the end we just saved one single tap ? Of course after having entered a search string we could safe some taps, so maybe that's more important ? I'd also be interested in how often people really use a search function. If it's rare then tapping through some menus might be OK ? Actually personally I never use the search function in daily life at all ! If I have an artist or album in my mind I rather go to these menus and use the menus - this for me is faster than trying to enter a search string. So how often do user people search? Please (everyone) share your habits with me so I get a better understanding of your needs! And what about dfarringtons suggestion of some possibilities to control the current playing song from the screensafer: this is definitely one of my higher priorities. I'm not sure yet whether I can still squeeze it into the next release - but it will be definitely coming thereafter. As you are used to new feature releases every four to seven weeks (which I'm planning to continue for a while) you can definitely count on it to be implemented soon, so stay tuned !
