I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around the workings of the 32 bit
digital volume control of the Wyred4Sound DAC-2:

- If I feed the DAC-2 a 24bit music stream, it is upconverted to
32bits, which then gives us 8bits (48db) of possible digital
attentuation BEFORE loss of resolution from the original 24bits?

- However, doesn't digital attentuation only lower the signal, not the
noise, so the S/N ratio is smaller?
