I've been doing some reading since my post and I see that the official plugin only supports the radio and the touch. I've never seen this sort of dependency before, so it took me by surprise. Tonight I will try Triodes plugin. When it didn't work on both my iPod Touch and squeezebox, I figured the issue was that their servers were being overloaded. Why it won't work on my iPod Touch using their app is a complete mystery to me.
