I don't think SBS was playing, but it's hard to know exactly happened. I miss both the tools and skills to analyse it. Probably a reboot of the pc could have solved it.
Two small things: It is really hard to find the PDF and that is crucial in getting it to work. Try to flash it directly in the user's face. Put it on the desktop, provide a button in the config window. Whatever makes sense. The other is that what you call Squeezeplayer is actually called Squeezeplay.
