I think the Squeezbox is under-marketed and misunderstood. I think it has the genuine potential to appeal to both the plug&play crowd with multicolor touch screens (UI needs to be dumbed down), and to us fiddlers.
I agree with those ho propose a Boom v2, which could become the most popular device if priced right and with UI improvements for the P&P crowd. Equally, I think the next Touch simply needs a revised UI as does the server software, hiding a lot of the complexity and more plug and play. Then there should be an expert mode (with disclaimer) that allows us old school users to continue with our ways. What I really miss in the SB range, personally, is an upmarket device in the $500-1000 range (between the aging Transporter and the Touch), something like the current Touch but with upgraded and latest gen electronics. Anyone else feel that way? How about something that automatically FLACs any analog source that flows through its DA and sends it back to the server, and prompts you to name it from the UI? I still have analog material I have not converted because of the cumbersome factor...
