When they identify your track and they have it in their DB, you get their version (~250kbps VBR MP3). Your actual file is only uploaded if they don't have it in their collection. The problem with amazon is that, while it will try to match all kind of files (also ogg and flac) it will only upload MP3 and AAC (max. 100MB/file).
