Both can't use your iTunes library when your PC is off (unless you have a NAS or something, of course, then it works for both, at least if it's the right NAS).
The WiFi argument has a point if you really want to use 10 devices over WiFi, I would try to wire at least some. However, even with Sonos you will need regular WiFi coverage if you want to control it with an iPhone.
