Personally I also use Orange Squeeze Preview too and haven't manually started squeezeplayer for ages.
In OSP just goto the player screen and click the option to start squeezeplayer. Note this is only the player menu available from the left swipe main menu, then option to start SP doesn't appear in the player list available from the top bar.
