I'm advocating using the database and not being cavalier about deleting it. The file exists and is usually called .slimserversql.db I'm not so much pointing to lack of goodness in the existing tag as saying that we've got a relational database, the tags can't do what I need, so it makes sense to use the relational database. I'm also saying that since we have a database, there is no reason to think that the hierarchical file structure should be important to the management of the data. There is a lot more of the rationale for the design in the dev-list archives from the early days when we were designing what needed to be in 6.0.0. I posted a straw-man schema and justification for it. Lots of it was accepted, some was not, but open source development is collaborative, I wasn't the king. Adding fields (attributes, columns, whatever you want to call them) is easy. It will solve problems in many areas. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
