The end product -will- work. You'll need these parts all available on
Amazon:

If you need a power supply:

And a cable:

If you can wait a few months things should have shaken out for the
recently-released RPi B+ to become the new platform:
http://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Pi-Model-Plus-512MB/dp/B00LPESRUK/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1409580723&sr=1-1&keywords=raspberry+pi+b%2B

It has some advantages over the B Rev.2 model above including easier
mounting (i.e. no soldering) of an optional external DAC board such as
the HiFiBerry:
http://www.hifiberry.com/dacplus

Easy enough to build a Squeezebox player around the RPi B today and if
you see some advantage to it switch to the B+ in the future. You'll need
a new case but all other parts you bought will be transferable to the
new board.

BTW, for outdoor use you can use a USB battery pack:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/175-5297223-1153169?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=USB+battery+pack

This is the configuration I'm listening to as I type this.
