It seems to me what's being proposed is a way of using Sonos devices as Squeezeboxes, and getting them properly integrated into LMS. Why would anyone do that? Why would they use expensive Sonos devices to emulate what can be built for a fraction of the cost using things like RaspPi/Odroid/Wandboard/etc?
