I do not support any form of restrictive DRM either. I refuse to buy anything that prevents me from making legal copies for my personal use. I have even chosen to encode in high quality mp3 only as I do not want to be restrcted in the future with my choice of portable (or non-portable) digital music player.
But this has nothing to do with my choice of an iPod. Right now it is the best device (features, functionality, price, compatibility) for my needs.
