OK, I figured out what's happening. OrangeSqueeze has a configuration setting for the default action that should be triggered if you tap a track in an album. If that action is set to "play" then indeed, the whole album plays from that track on.
In my setup this was set to "prompt what to do", probably the default setting? Anyway, what this setting does is bring up the context menu when tapping the track and since "play" in the context menu only plays a single track a side effect of this is that you can no longer play the whole album.
