yes, this could lead to the "ClearChannel" effect on online radio (i.e.,
death of most enjoyable radio, replaced with crappy playlists of
mainstream hits!), including independent stations that also stream on
the internet.  I'd hate to lose internet streaming of WWOZ, WFUV, WBGO,
WDVX, and pure online like RadioParadise.com.  But its a real
possibility as most small stations or internet only can't possibly
afford the royalty rates for internet broadcasting without a "small
entity" exception with much lower rates.

This could create the same wasteland for internet radio as we currently
have in the United States for on-air radio.
