Not wrong. When players are synced - LMS has to become the sole source of audio stream so that the same audio samples can be sent out to all player in a controlled manner. When there is asingle player - if no transcoding/resampling is required direct playing (i.e. stram goes directly from station to player) is possible which means LMS less traffic on local LAN and less load on LMS server. Proxied streaming means LMS receives stream from station, buffers it and then resends packets unchanged to player so twice as much traffic on local LAN and also LMS processing. Because of way TCP ack windows works LMS has larger buffer and so using proxied streaming evens out a lumpy/bursty source station. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105316 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
