This just started happening today for me as well. Everything was working fine, and then suddenly Spotty just stopped playing. When I double click some track to startup playback, Spotty jumps from one track to the next. I'm guessing this is a Spotify issue.
Please check your server.log files. We've seen similar reports where suddenly Spotify would fail to respond, or respond in unexpected ways. As in this case it often was a temporary hiccup.
