You mischaracterize the problem as isolated. As far as I can tell from this thread and others, WPA2 with AES encryption just plain doesn't work with www.wi-fi.org WPA certified implementations.
But it is known that some certified wifi units don't themselves work that well with AES at present. This has been said about the one I use, the Apple Airport Extreme, although it is fine with WPA Personal.
