Using Softsqueeze to play is a LOT more demanding on your laptop than
just using Slimserver to stream out FLAC files.  When my server (an
aging desktop) is especially busy, I do sometimes get dropouts on
Softsqueeze: I'm fairly sure I've never managed to stop a FLAC stream
to an SB.

But then, you'll find out for yourself soon, so why worry? :)
