Elegant, if you only care about FLAC. I assume this proposed solution
would be a bit messy if you wanted to support polarity flipping on all
formats?

In addition, transcoding removes some features, such as FF/RW, I
believe? Also, would it not require flagging the song in some sligtly
messy way to invoke this "transcoding" -perhaps alter file name
extension? (Pardon me if I'm wrong, as I haven't explored Slimserver
much yet.)
