Not so much - they just go in faster and don't slip off the driver. Also we have the torque dialed in very precisely (using $700 screwdrivers!) to tap the plastic properly. With philips heads it's not as easy to control - you'd have to press harder to keep the driver in the screw head, making it less consistent.
