Agreed.  Although I think that for most people--and I'm not looking to start 
yet another audiophile debate here--MP3s are capable of providing adequate 
sound reproduction for their uses, and I'd be willing to bet that the majority 
of people useing their Squeezeboxen are (1) streaming MP3s, and (2) using the 
RCA jacks. I think the success of MP3 players attest to the general adequacy of 
the format, despite the otherwise valid points people with more discerning ears 
may make.

Also agreed.

What would probably compete with the squeezebox market would be an iPod you 
could dock, see from across the room, and control remotely.

I think a WiFi iPod could compete too, if it can streem from the iPod to a 
stereo and you could just look at the display in your hand, though I tend to 
think that battery life would be severly limited in this mode of use.
