I wonder how hard it is to write a native DS app? It's already got the wifi support. The browser method would be easier obviously, but it would have all the usual browser problems.
With a native app, you could have the now playing info in the top screen, and the navigation in the bottom touch screen. While building a playlist, the playlist would go in the top, and the library in the bottom.
