1st things 1st: Slimserver has all the competition beat hands down. Much more functional and better sounding than Twonky, WMC, etc.
Have it running on my PC through wireless to Soundbridge. Store my music library as lossless on a Linkstation 160G so Slim is serving the files from the NAS. Have read the fieldnetworks site as to installing Slimserver directly on the Linkstation and just cannot get it to work. Have tried installing Perl 5.8.5, the mipsel tools, doing the ln-s to get a symbolic link to Perl 5.8.5 that Slimstation can read etc, etc. Does anyone have an up-to-date set of instructions for getting Slimserver 6.2.x properly installed onto the Linkstation device?
