Hi all,

There does seem to be a common problem writing files to the Qnap, that
doesn't seem to have affected the 400Gb units so far. Reading doesn't appear
to be a problem however.

I have now spoken to Paul at Progressive who is currently at Cebit. He will
be returning tomorrow late afternoon and will contact everyone as soon as
possible after that to discuss the way forward. He is also liaising with
Qnap as to the best way to resolve this unfortunate issue quickly.

We would both just like to reassure everyone that this will be addressed as
a matter of urgency and resolved before any further devices are shipped. If
you have details of your problem, please inform Paul directly at

Just for info... I telephoned mutitask computing this morning and it seems
they've had a fair few calls from people with problems similar to the above.
They're working to establish the cause(s) and how it can be fixed. I think
they will send out an update email when there's some news.
