I believe if the whole key is numeric, the SB firmware will assume
you're typing in a number instead of a string.

It's more a user interface thing than a bug, and I don't know of any
clean way to do it.  (Since you may actually -want- to enter a big hex
number as your key, is the 'bug' in the SB for letting you?  Or is it
in your other hardware for insisting it's ASCII?)
