Tom, Try reading this thread for preventing Slimserver from going into standby while streaming (did you search the forums?? always first port of call).

The plugin has been incorporated into the 6.2.2 and 6.5 builds (so you can just download the latest nightly build to fix this if it is a problem for you). Of course no content can be streamed to your squeezebox if the computer running slimserver is in standby or suspend..
