Andy, Thanks for the response. Yes, I can access the file fine through a web browser, but not through slimserver (either using the Squeezebox itself, or using the web interface), for some reason. You mention that changing a proxy server setting might resolve the issue - please advise how to go about doing this (particularly because I don't use a proxy server on my local network, to the best of my knowledge). Thanks in advance....
